Sharing Experience Across Institutions: CENTREPEACE Knowledge Exchange for RMAs
CENTREPEACE hosted a knowledge exchange workshop connecting RMAs from Oslo, Helsinki and Brno.
On 2 December, CENTREPEACE organised an RMA Breakfast focused on Horizon Europe Pillar II. The event provided researchers and research managers with insights into how to interpret work programmes and better understand the logic of European research calls.
On 2 December, the CENTREPEACE project organised an RMA Breakfast titled “Cracking the Code of Pillar II: How to Interpret Horizon Europe Work Programmes and Secure Funding.” The guest speaker was Ladislav Čoček, Project Manager at the Project Office of the Rector’s Office at Masaryk University.
The session followed up on the September RMA Breakfast “Navigating Horizon Europe,” which introduced the overall structure of the Horizon Europe framework programme. This meeting focused specifically on Pillar II, which supports collaborative research projects addressing global challenges and European policy priorities.
During the lecture, Ladislav Čoček outlined which key documents are essential for understanding the rules and conditions of Horizon Europe funding. He explained how to navigate work programmes and where to find detailed information on individual calls. To illustrate the process, he presented an example of an upcoming Pillar II call and demonstrated how to interpret its structure and content.
The presentation addressed how to identify the expected scope of activities, the types of partners and expertise required, and the anticipated outputs, outcomes and impact of a project. Attention was also given to the broader policy context in which the calls are formulated.
The event concluded with a discussion in which participants could ask questions and share their experiences. The RMA Breakfast highlighted the importance of understanding Horizon Europe calls in detail as a prerequisite for preparing strong project proposals and contributing to high-quality international research.
