On 15–16 June 2026, the CENTREPEACE project organised a matchmaking event for a research group focused on cooperation in the defence industry. The event brought together researchers from Europe and Canada and created a space for sharing expertise, discussing current research questions, and exploring opportunities for future collaboration.

During the two-day programme, participants presented their current research and various approaches to studying the defence industry and international cooperation in this field. The presentations provided an opportunity to become familiar with the research topics and expertise of individual participants, while also identifying areas where their research interests complement each other.

An important part of the matchmaking event consisted of joint discussions that followed each presentation. During these sessions, researchers were able to further develop the topics introduced in the programme, share experiences, and discuss potential joint research questions. The event was therefore not only focused on presenting existing research, but primarily on building new connections and identifying opportunities for longer-term collaboration.

Connecting researchers and building international networks is an important part of the CENTREPEACE project. The matchmaking event enabled experts from different countries to share their perspectives on developments in the defence industry and to identify common topics that may lead to new research activities, publications, and collaborative projects in the future.
